Most engine systems use two plate heat exchangers (PHE). They separate the engine cooling water from the heating system.
Optimum function is important for 100% heat transfer to the heating system. If there is any contamination, the heat is cooled away via the emergency coolers. To achieve optimum heat transfer, the correct size must also be selected. Plate heat exchangers are often designed too small.
